Back in 2006, a group of angry young comic book nerds started a podcast with the focus of highlighting which comics that released that week were the must-read books but as the show grew in popular, it expanded into a show about video games, movies, television, comics, and everything else in between. Just remember one thing: We don't talk. We argue!

The Dark Tower Trailer Is Here!

The moment millions of Dark Tower fans have waited for has arrived.

I’m going to just come right out and say it, I’ve never read a single word of Stephen King’s 8 part opus. Whenever I think I want to, I freeze at the thought of the task and move on to watching bad CW shows instead. I truly live a fulfilled life.

The trailer for The Dark Tower explains as much as it can but even from this ignorant standpoint, I can tell they are cramming a WHOLE lot into this one movie. I’m sure a series of films are planned, but Tom Taylor being brought into the Dark Tower world then bringing the Gunslinger back into the real world while the Man in Black is trying to destroy things through a big blue portal feels a little too much like a dark reboot of Last Action Hero.

The film itself has had a rocky road, spending years in development hell and delays, extraordinarily close to release and at least 4 writers being credited. I’m not sure what we’re getting will be the best possible version but hey, at lease we are getting it right? The film is coming out this August, so it’s also surprising we are just getting our first trailer now with less than 100 days to go before the film releases.

The official blurb:

Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor) is a young 11-year-old adventure seeker who discovers clues about another dimension called Mid-World. Upon following the mystery, he is spirited away to Mid-World where he encounters the lone frontiersman knight Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), who is on a quest to reach the ‘Dark Tower’ that resides in End-World and reach the nexus point between time and space that he hopes will save Mid-World from extinction. But with various monsters and a vicious sorcerer named Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey) hot on their trail, the unlikely duo find that their quest may be difficult to complete.

The Dark Tower hits theaters August 4, 2017
