Back in 2006, a group of angry young comic book nerds started a podcast with the focus of highlighting which comics that released that week were the must-read books but as the show grew in popular, it expanded into a show about video games, movies, television, comics, and everything else in between. Just remember one thing: We don't talk. We argue!

Animated Movies Teased To Be A Greater Part Of The MCU.

Comic book animated properties have been around for years and the rivalry between Marvel and DC is just as strong in the animated space as is it on the comic page. In the 90s Marvel had a strong showing with The animated X-Men series that was accompanied by Spider-Man, but we can almost all agree that DC ruled the roost with Batman: The Animated Series, followed by Superman: The Animated Series and then they took over with Justice League and then Justice League Unlimited, thereby solidifying themselves as the undisputed king of the animated world.

Fast forward a few years and things are on more equal footing and it looks likeĀ Marvel’s VP of Animation Development and Production Cort Lane may have a trickĀ or two up his sleeve. When asked at a Q&A at Emerald City Comic-Con if there were any animated films in the works that connected to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe:

“I can’t announce anything, but things are in the works,” said Lane, calling out the upcoming Netflix series as a proof of concept for things that tie-in to the larger world.

Obviously this must be taken with a grain of salt but the fact that it’s an idea being discussed internally in certainly news. Obviously the animated shows now all have obvious nods to the films but none have reached that “MCU-Status”. Personally I don’ know how I feel about it as it would cause more plot holes the larger the universe gets and yes I know how crazy I sound.

Would you be down for an animated show being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
