Check out the All-New ANTiFanboy Podcast
Back in 2006, a group of angry young comic book nerds started a podcast with the focus of highlighting which comics that released that week were the must-read books but as the show grew in popular, it expanded into a show about video games, movies, television, comics, and everything else in between. Just remember one thing: We don't talk. We argue!

I don’t normally comment on the covers much, but you’d think on a cover that says: “Enter the ‘villain’!”, that he’d be beating asses, especially since the sole purpose of this series is about Batman’s ass being beaten in.

"Batman! Fear me! For I am th- OOH GOD MY FACE!"

“Batman! Fear me! For I am th- OOH GOD MY FACE!”

Fun Parts

  • Thankfully they skip over any of that cookie-cutter dialogue where Julia might have said: “oh em gee, you’re Batman?!”.  It could have been a gripe if they glossed over the whole revelation, but I hate it when they waste as much time as they normally do
  • The building’s sounds tell Batman who one of the mystery bad guys is (See Paraphrase of The Week)

Stupid Parts

  • Julia being able to navigate the Bat-puter so easily. It’s hard enough trying to navigate a Mac for the first time, especially without the added pressure of helping Batman who’s in a life or death situation
  • Batman tells Julia that Alfred would want him to stop the Architect from messing with the Wayne Beacon rather than help him at the hospital. Harsh browns.  You can’t send Dr. Thompkins or somebody over there?
"I don't know how you forced my father to publish ANOTHER weekly DC book . . ."

Paraphrase of The Week

Batman: Building, who are you working for?!
Building: Ssshhhhhhh
Batman: What are you trying to tell me?!
Building: Ssshhhh
Batman: (I know, I’ll stop talking)
Building: Ssshhhhh
Batman: Of course! It’s The Silence!

Batman is now aware that The Silence is involved.

Important Parts

  • The Architect reveals he was behind the design choices for the Wayne Beacon (remember that giant lighthouse they mentioned once or twice?)
  • Julia gets into the Batcave thanks to Alfred’s hints, before he was taken to the hospital. She helps Batman save the day with her blueprint reading
  • Batman partly stops the Architect from doing his mystery plan with the Beacon, but it’s pretty broken by now.
