So San Diego Comic Con happened and basically took over every news outlet for the whole week. So between that and me hunting all over God’s...
Category: Things That Happened The Week Of
A fair amount of news this week but some truly interesting stuff. EA tells us about their new subscription service, cool new trailers for a bunch of movies, a hardcover for one of the best books of the last five years and more after the jump
Too many things happened this week. Guardians still blew up the charts and TMNT still ruined any goodwill I had left towards the series. Aside from all that we got some things to look forward to like Gamestop at least attempting to makes things better, but also some garbage things like MORE game delays and how awkward Charlie Cox looks as Matt Murdock.
What a week… Starting on a pretty severe low with the passing of Robin Williams among other terrible and unfortunate moments but slowly we came on the upswing. While not fully recovered, we can safely say that all is not lost.
As always some really cool stuff happened this week, and at the very least, a much better start to this week than last. That ‘Original Cut’ of Star Wars being released rumor, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson can’t seem to decided if he wants to go Heel or Face. We tried to kill Jon via fright and yet another comic creator can’t seem to keep it in his pants.
Thankfully however, the internet is a thing that will forever keep me busy. I saw a bunch of cool trailers for both film and video games. DC is basically Mavel circa early 2000s bankruptcy with the alarming rate it is giving it’s TV rights away to. The ANTiFangirl talks Leftovers, new staff writer Maggie recaps Doctor Who and the ANTiFanboys give their impressions on the new Smash Bros demo. All that and more after the jump!
Lots of cool stuff happened this week. The Family of Jack Kirby estate settling with Marvel. Also, Destiny players just can’t seem to quit loot caves as an attempt to fix loot on their own. All that and more after the jump!
On top of a fairly heavy news week, New York Comic Con is happening so the normally light weekend became a bum rush of new, trailers and reveals. There hasn’t been a week more full of stuff in a while. Some unfortunate rumors came true in the comic world, Twin Peaks announced it’s return, and Sony forgot how to launch a video game.
I think I would categorize this week as the dick measuring contest seen around the internet between two multibillion dollar companies. I can imagine somewhere in a lofty tower. One of the Warner Bros was sipping on his morning tea and spit it all over the newspaper with the headline, ‘Iron Man will be in Captain America 3 the Civil War!’. He then furiously dialed the promotions department and told his secretary, Grace, that “It would be a COLD day in Hell before I let that fucking Mouse get one over on me!” And the next day we pretty much got every single DC movie announced and confirmed for the next 7 years. Gotta love competition.
