Sega announced earlier today that they are teaming up with Gamefreak, the people behind the main Pokemon titles to deliver a brand new IP, Tenbo The Baddass Elephant. Here’s the thing too, it looks awesome. If you are like me you were supremely bummed to hear Sega’s announcement that they are going to focus on mobile instead of console games. So Tenbo was a pretty big surprise, even bigger when you add in the Gamefreak people. I’d be lying if I didn’t just assume that they were 1st party only.
The game is a 2D sidescroller where you collect peanuts and break stuff, it had a great look and looks like a blast to play. It boasts a comic book artstyle.
The official Synopsis:
Shell City is plunged into a state of emergency after coming under attack from the devastating forces of PHANTOM, led by a mysterious masked commander. Terrifying war machines emblazoned with skulls tear through the city leaving a trail of destruction in their wake!
As the National Army struggles to contain PHANTOM, General Krenman sees the mammoth task at hand and calls upon the only thing that stands between Shell City’s obliteration and its salvation; the peanut chompin’, villain stompin’, PHANTOM romping Tembo The Badass Elephant.
I love it already.
Tembo is set to release this summer on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
