Back in 2006, a group of angry young comic book nerds started a podcast with the focus of highlighting which comics that released that week were the must-read books but as the show grew in popular, it expanded into a show about video games, movies, television, comics, and everything else in between. Just remember one thing: We don't talk. We argue!
Hello and welcome to the 5/15/16 edition of Things That Happened The Week Of how is everybody doing? First let’s get the sad stuff out of the way first. Prolific comic book writer/artist Darwyn Cooke has passed away, this is the guy you need to thank for comic milestones like Solo, New Frontier and he helped bring in the modern day look of Selina Kyle during Ed Brubaker’s run with the character. The man was a titan in the industry and he will be missed.
Moving on to more positive news, Slimeball Steve is back! So you can sit down and hear him wax poetic over why the PS4 is way better than any other system in the history of the universe. We got some fun new trailers in the form of Don’t Breath some iffy trailers in the form of Assassin’s Creed and some bad trailers in the form of Yoga Hosers. We also found out that Michael B Jordan will be reteaming with director Ryan Coogler for Black Panther.
Tis the season for TV cancellations and many (many) shows got the axe including the much loved Agent Carter. Disney is officially getting out of the video game business after ending production on Disney Infinity and Marvel cancels Darth Vader but not due to lagging sales, but because the writer has finished his story. Imagine that.
All that and seriously, much more down below. Enjoy!
